About the Haenel-Schmeisser Model 1
The Haenel-Schmeisser Model 1 is a German blowback-operated semi-automatic pocket pistol chambered in 6.35mm (.25 ACP). Based on a pocket-pistol design Hugo Schmeisser patented in 1920, it was produced by C.G. Haenel of Suhl from 1922 to around 1930. Striker-fired with a six-round magazine, it was a well-made and popular sidearm during the Weimar period.
Hugo Schmeisser, best known for submachine guns and the StG 44, also designed this small civilian pocket pistol.
