The Henry Side Gate Lever Action represents a significant evolution for Henry Repeating Arms, adding a traditional side loading gate to their lever-action platform for the first time. This allows shooters to load individual rounds through the side of the receiver while retaining Henry's traditional front-loading tubular magazine. Chambered in .30-30 Winchester, .45-70 Government, .357 Magnum, and .44 Magnum, the Side Gate features a brass or steel receiver (depending on variant), American walnut stock, fully adjustable semi-buckhorn rear sight, and brass bead front sight. The X Model variant adds a synthetic stock, Picatinny rail, and threaded barrel for modern tactical applications.

For years, the absence of a side loading gate was the single most common complaint about Henry lever-actions.
