Krieghoff Trumpf

About the Krieghoff Trumpf

The Krieghoff Trumpf is a German drilling, a three-barrel combination break-action long gun pairing two side-by-side smoothbore shotgun barrels (most commonly 12 gauge) over a single rifled barrel in a centerfire rifle cartridge such as 9.3x74mm R. Designed for European driven and stalking hunts where a hunter may face both small game and large boar or deer, it uses a barrel selector to switch between shot and ball, a set trigger for the rifle barrel, and provision for a quick-detach scope.

Krieghoff has built drillings in Suhl and later Ulm since the early 20th century; the Trumpf became one of the marque's signature combination guns for European mixed-game hunters who wanted shot and ball ready in a single break-action.

Rifle-barrel chambering is built to order from a range of European calibers; 9.3x74mm R is a representative classic option. Many Trumpf drillings include a manual cocking lever for the rifle lock.
