About the Lithgow LA101 Crossover

The Lithgow LA101 Crossover is a bolt-action rifle chambered in .22 Long Rifle, produced by Lithgow Arms since 2013. Featuring a 5-round magazine capacity, this rifle offers compact firepower. The striker-fired action provides a consistent trigger pull for every shot, simplifying training and reducing the manual of arms - a design philosophy that has become the dominant paradigm in modern defensive handguns. The 21.0-inch barrel maximizes accuracy potential and ballistic performance, making this an excellent choice for target shooting, competition, or field use. At 3100g (109.3 oz), this is a substantial firearm whose weight contributes to reduced felt recoil and enhanced stability during precision shooting. The steel frame provides a solid, premium feel with the durability to withstand decades of regular use and thousands of rounds. This firearm represents its manufacturer's commitment to delivering a well-engineered, reliable product that serves the needs of discerning shooters seeking quality, accuracy, and dependable performance from a proven platform.

The LA101 broke a 40-year drought in Australian civilian firearms manufacturing when it rolled off the same Lithgow production lines that have armed Australian soldiers since 1912, from the trenches of Gallipoli to the jungles of Vietnam and beyond.

The LA101 Crossover marked a significant milestone for Australian firearms manufacturing, reviving civilian production at the Lithgow Small Arms Factory which had been exclusively focused on military contracts for decades. The factory, continuously operating since 1912, has produced firearms for the Australian military from the SMLE rifle through to the modern EF88 Austeyr. The LA101's use of CZ 452/455 compatible magazines was a deliberate design choice to ensure readily available and affordable accessories. The centrefire counterpart, the LA102, followed in production and chambers popular hunting calibers. Lithgow Arms is now operated by NIOA (formerly Thales Australia's small arms division).
