The Marlin Model 60 is an American semi-automatic, blowback-operated .22 Long Rifle rifle introduced in 1960 and produced continuously until 2020 - one of the best-selling rifles of all time with over 11 million units made. It feeds from an integral tubular magazine under the barrel (14 rounds in late-production rifles, 17-18 in earlier ones), uses Marlin's signature 16-groove Micro-Groove rifling, and features a hardwood Monte Carlo stock, a manual bolt hold-open, a last-shot automatic bolt hold-open, and a receiver grooved for scope mounting. Reliable, accurate and inexpensive, the Model 60 became the archetypal American plinking and small-game rifle. Production has not resumed under Sturm, Ruger & Co. following its 2020 acquisition of the Marlin brand.

Specs reflect the late-production 19-inch (483 mm) barrel configuration with a 14-round tubular magazine. Earlier rifles (pre-mid-1980s) had a 22-inch barrel, ~1029 mm overall length and a 17-18 round magazine. Uses Marlin's Micro-Groove rifling (16 grooves). Variant suffixes include SB (stainless), SS (stainless steel), C (camo) and SN. Weight varies 5.0-5.8 lb depending on era; 5.5 lb (2497 g) used here.
