About the Ruger 10/22 Deluxe Sporter

The Ruger 10/22 Deluxe Sporter is a semi-automatic rimfire rifle chambered in .22 Long Rifle, produced by Sturm, Ruger & Co. as an upgraded, sporter-grade variant of the classic 10/22 platform. Sold under model number 1102, it pairs the proven 10/22 blowback action and 10-round rotary magazine with a finely finished American walnut stock featuring cut checkering, a flat buttplate with a non-slip rubber pad, and sling swivels. The 18.5-inch cold hammer-forged barrel is fitted with a gold-bead front sight and a folding adjustable rear sight, and the receiver is drilled and tapped for scope mounting. Effectively a dressed-up field and small-game rifle, the Deluxe Sporter offers the same reliability and vast aftermarket support as the standard 10/22 while adding traditional sporting-rifle aesthetics.

The Sporter has long been the walnut-stocked 'gentleman's' member of the 10/22 family, chosen by shooters who want the platform's legendary reliability and aftermarket depth dressed in a traditional checkered hardwood sporting stock rather than the plain birch of the standard carbine.
