The Ruger M77 Hawkeye is a Mauser-style controlled-round-feed bolt-action hunting rifle introduced in 2007 as a refinement of the M77 Mark II. It uses a non-rotating claw extractor with a fixed-blade ejector, a three-position tang safety, the lighter LC6 trigger, and Ruger's signature integral scope bases machined directly into the solid-steel receiver, supplied with proprietary scope rings. Chambered in everything from .204 Ruger up to dangerous-game cartridges including .375 Ruger, the Hawkeye line spans Standard, African, Alaskan, Hunter, Predator, Guide Gun and Long-Range models.

The M77's iconic integral scope-mount bases, machined straight into the receiver and shipped with matching Ruger rings, freed hunters from the era's unreliable bolt-on bases and became the line's enduring signature for over half a century.
