About the Ruger LCR .22 WMR
The Ruger LCR .22 WMR is a lightweight, double-action-only concealed-carry revolver chambered in .22 Winchester Magnum Rimfire. Introduced in 2013, it expanded Ruger's Lightweight Compact Revolver (LCR) line, pairing a six-round steel cylinder with an aluminum monolithic frame and a polymer fire-control housing. It uses Ruger's patented friction-reducing cam trigger system for a smooth, consistent pull, a concealed internal hammer for snag-free draw, and a Hogue Tamer Monogrip. The .22 WMR chambering offers a higher round count and reduced recoil compared with centerfire LCR models, making it a popular choice for pocket carry and training.
The LCR debuted in 2009 as Ruger's answer to the polymer-frame revolver, pioneering a three-material construction of aluminum, steel, and polymer. The .22 WMR version followed in 2013 to give shooters a high-capacity, low-recoil rimfire option in the same compact platform.
