About the Ruger LCR .357 Magnum
The Ruger LCR .357 Magnum is a five-shot, double-action-only revolver chambered in .357 Magnum, designed for concealed carry and personal defense. Introduced in 2010, this magnum variant of the Lightweight Compact Revolver replaces the aluminum frame of the .38 Special model with a heavier 400-series stainless steel monolithic frame to handle the higher pressures of the .357 Magnum cartridge, while retaining the polymer fire-control housing, patented friction-reducing cam trigger, and a Hogue Tamer Monogrip that mitigates felt recoil.
Ruger introduced the original .38 Special LCR in 2009 as a modern polymer-and-aluminum answer to the classic aluminum-framed snub-nose revolver; the .357 Magnum version followed in 2010 for shooters wanting more terminal power from a pocket-sized wheelgun.
