About the Ruger Mark IV Standard 6"
The Ruger Mark IV Standard 6" is a semi-automatic pistol chambered in .22 Long Rifle, produced by Sturm, Ruger & Co. since 2016. This American-manufactured firearm reflects the engineering traditions and quality standards of its country of origin, designed to meet the demands of both civilian and professional users in a competitive global marketplace. Featuring a 10-round magazine capacity, this pistol offers adequate firepower for defensive carry. The 6.0-inch barrel maximizes accuracy potential and ballistic performance, making this an excellent choice for target shooting, competition, or field use. Weighing 853g (30.1 oz) empty, this firearm strikes a practical balance between manageable carry weight and sufficient mass to moderate felt recoil during shooting. The aluminum alloy frame achieves a notable weight reduction compared to all-steel construction while maintaining the structural rigidity required for safe, reliable operation. This firearm represents its manufacturer's commitment to delivering a well-engineered, reliable product that serves the needs of discerning shooters seeking quality, accuracy, and dependable performance from a proven platform.
The 6-inch barrel length has been a staple of the Ruger Standard Auto lineage since 1949. The original William B. Ruger design featured a 6-inch tapered barrel, and the profile of the Mark IV Standard 6" is the most faithful descendant of that founding pistol. The longer barrel provides the classic Ruger silhouette that was originally inspired by the lines of the Japanese Nambu Type 14 and German Luger P08.

Model number 40105. MSRP $579. Includes two 10-round magazines. The 6-inch tapered barrel model is the longest-barreled Standard variant and most closely echoes the barrel length of the original 1949 Ruger Standard Auto, which also featured a tapered profile. The additional barrel length provides a meaningful accuracy advantage over the 4.75" model due to the longer sight radius, while remaining lighter than the bull-barreled Target model. The receiver is drilled and tapped for aftermarket Weaver- or Picatinny-style rail mounting. Not available in California or Massachusetts.
This is a variant of the Ruger Mark IV Standard 4.75".
