About the Ruger Mark IV Tactical
The Ruger Mark IV Tactical is a semi-automatic pistol chambered in .22 Long Rifle, produced by Sturm, Ruger & Co. since 2016. This American-manufactured firearm reflects the engineering traditions and quality standards of its country of origin, designed to meet the demands of both civilian and professional users in a competitive global marketplace. Featuring a 10-round magazine capacity, this pistol offers adequate firepower for defensive carry. The 4.4-inch barrel provides an excellent balance between sight radius and portability, making it equally suitable for duty carry and recreational shooting. Weighing 981g (34.6 oz) empty, this firearm strikes a practical balance between manageable carry weight and sufficient mass to moderate felt recoil during shooting. The aluminum alloy frame achieves a notable weight reduction compared to all-steel construction while maintaining the structural rigidity required for safe, reliable operation. This firearm represents its manufacturer's commitment to delivering a well-engineered, reliable product that serves the needs of discerning shooters seeking quality, accuracy, and dependable performance from a proven platform.
The Tactical variant reflects the modern trend of suppressor ownership in the United States. As .22 LR is naturally low-powered and many standard-velocity loads are already subsonic from pistol-length barrels, the cartridge is one of the quietest suppressed combinations available. The Ruger Mark IV Tactical has become one of the most popular suppressor host pistols in America, often described by owners as producing little more than the sound of the bolt cycling when fired with a quality suppressor and subsonic ammunition. The combination of Ruger's 75-year proven platform with modern accessory compatibility has made the Tactical model a favorite among the rapidly growing American suppressor community.

Model number 40150. MSRP $759. Includes two 10-round magazines and a thread protector cap. The 1/2"-28 thread pitch is the standard for .22 LR suppressors in the United States. The .22 LR cartridge is subsonic in many standard-velocity loadings, making it an ideal suppressor host - when paired with a suppressor and subsonic ammunition, the Mark IV Tactical is extremely quiet. The top Picatinny rail is ideal for mounting red dot sights, and the bottom rail accommodates lights or lasers. The 4.4-inch barrel is the shortest in the Mark IV lineup, keeping overall length compact even with a suppressor attached. Not available in California or Massachusetts. The receiver is also drilled and tapped for Weaver-style rail mounting in addition to the integrated Picatinny rails.
This is a variant of the Ruger Mark IV Standard 4.75".
