About the Ruger Super Redhawk Alaskan Toklat

The Ruger Super Redhawk Alaskan Toklat is a heavy-frame double-action revolver chambered in the high-pressure .454 Casull cartridge. A distributor-exclusive variant of the Super Redhawk line, it pairs a six-round stainless-steel cylinder with a 5-inch barrel and a cushioned Hogue Tamer Monogrip, making it a powerful backcountry sidearm intended primarily as defense against large dangerous game. Like all Super Redhawks it uses Ruger's triple-locking cylinder and extended frame to handle the cartridge's punishing recoil and pressure. It will also safely fire the lower-pressure .45 Colt cartridge.

The Toklat takes its name from the Toklat River, a glacial tributary of the Kantishna in Denali National Park, Alaska: grizzly country that the revolver's .454 Casull chambering is built to answer.
