About the Ruger Super Blackhawk Bisley Hunter
The Ruger Super Blackhawk Bisley Hunter is a single-action revolver chambered in .44 Magnum, built for handgun hunting and long-range silhouette shooting. It combines the heavy-frame Super Blackhawk with the Bisley grip frame, whose elongated grip, wide low-spur hammer and curved trigger tame the recoil of full-power magnum loads. Its heavy 7.5-inch cold hammer-forged barrel carries a full-length rib with integral scope mounts machined into the solid stainless steel, and the revolver ships with a set of Ruger scope rings. It also accepts .44 Special ammunition.
The Bisley name traces to a target-shooting range at Bisley in England; Colt used it for a purpose-built target single-action, and Ruger revived the grip geometry for magnum handgun hunters who needed a hold that could soak up the punishment of cartridges like the .44 Magnum through long strings of fire.

The Bisley grip frame is longer and has a less pronounced flare at the base than the standard Super Blackhawk plow-handle grip, rolling recoil into the hand rather than snapping the muzzle up. The integral scope-ring mounts are machined directly into the barrel rib, giving a scope base that will not shoot loose under heavy recoil.
