About the Savage Model 116

The Savage Model 116 is an American bolt-action hunting rifle, the stainless-steel, long-action member of Savage Arms' Model 110 family. Chambered for belted magnum cartridges such as the .300 Winchester Magnum, it pairs a stainless barreled action with a synthetic stock for weather resistance in the field. The platform's signature features include the floating bolt head, barrel-nut headspacing system that simplifies barrel changes, and the user-adjustable AccuTrigger, which together give the rifle a reputation for accuracy at an affordable price point.

The Model 110 lineage on which the 116 is built was designed by Nicholas Brewer in 1958 and is one of the longest continuously produced bolt-action rifle designs in the United States.
