About the Savage Model 30

The Savage Model 30 is an American hammerless pump-action shotgun produced by Savage Arms of Westfield, Massachusetts from the late 1950s into the 1970s. Chambered most commonly in 12 gauge with a 3-inch magnum chamber, it fed from a tubular magazine and was offered with 26, 28, or 30-inch barrels, many fitted with a ventilated rib. A budget-priced sporting gun aimed at hunters and clay shooters, the Model 30 was sold across several lettered series (such as the 30D, 30F, 30H, 30J, and 30T Trap) over its production life. Early guns used a safety mounted behind the trigger; a 1969 redesign introduced interchangeable barrels and a top-tang thumb safety.
