About the Stevens Model 311
The Stevens Model 311 is an American side-by-side double-barrel shotgun produced by the Stevens division of Savage Arms. A simple, rugged box-lock break-action design with double triggers, it was a popular, affordable utility and field shotgun offered in 12, 16, 20 gauge and .410 bore over its long production run.
The Model 311's box-lock action was so durable and cheap to make that it remained essentially unchanged for over six decades, becoming the quintessential farmer's and trapline shotgun across rural America.
