The Mannlicher-Schoenauer Y1903/14/30 is a bolt-action carbine, the final production pattern of Greece's service Mannlicher-Schoenauer, ordered in 1930 when the Hellenic Army procured a further 25,000 examples directly from the Steyr factory in Austria. Like the 1903/14 carbine it descends from, it is chambered for the 6.5x54mm Mannlicher-Schoenauer cartridge, fed from Otto Schoenauer's distinctive rotary spool magazine that holds five rounds loaded by stripper clip. It retains the turning-bolt action with forward locking lugs and the full-length handguard of the 1914 update, offering good accuracy and the flat trajectory characteristic of the 6.5mm round. These carbines equipped Greek forces through the interwar period and into the Second World War.

By 1930 Greece had ordered its Mannlicher-Schoenauers through several intermediaries over nearly three decades, but this final 25,000-carbine batch came straight from the Steyr works in Austria, closing out one of the longest single-pattern military rifle procurements of the early 20th century.
