A naval-service member of Alfred von Kropatschek's rifle family, it chambers the 8x50mmR Mannlicher cartridge and feeds from an under-barrel tubular magazine holding eight rounds. It was built by the Österreichische Waffenfabriks-Gesellschaft (Steyr).
