About the Uberti 1873 Short Rifle Hunter
The Uberti 1873 Short Rifle Hunter is a lever-action rifle, a modernized reproduction of Winchester's Model 1873 toggle-link repeater built by A. Uberti of Italy. Chambered in .357 Magnum, it pairs a 20-inch half-octagonal barrel and 10-round tubular magazine with hunting-oriented updates: an ergonomic pistol-grip walnut stock, a rubber recoil buttpad, an all-black hardened action, and an integral Picatinny optics rail for mounting a scope or red dot alongside the standard open sights.
The Model 1873 lever-action became famous as 'The Gun that Won the West.' Uberti's Hunter reissue keeps the toggle-link action of the original but adapts it for the modern hunter with a pistol grip, recoil pad and an optics rail.
