The Verney-Carron Azur .375 RVC is a French side-by-side double rifle built on the maker's Azur Safari boxlock ejector action and chambered for the proprietary .375 R Verney-Carron (Rimmed Verney-Carron) cartridge. A dangerous-game rifle intended for African and heavy plains-game hunting, it pairs a modern rimmed .375-calibre cartridge that drives a 300-grain bullet to roughly 855 m/s with the classic twin-barrel, double-trigger layout favoured for close-range work on buffalo and other large animals. The .375 RVC is derived from a large Nitro Express case necked to .375 calibre, giving energy in the class of the largest .375 magnums while retaining a rim suited to the break-open double action.
