About the Walther LGV
The Walther LGV is a break-barrel, spring-piston air rifle introduced in 2013 by the German manufacturer Carl Walther. Built around a heavyweight, vibration-damped action, it revived the historic LGV designation from Walther's earlier match air rifles and was aimed at recreational shooting, plinking, and field target use. Its 'Super Silent Technology' integral moderator and internal vibration-reduction system give it an unusually smooth, quiet firing cycle, while a two-stage adjustable match trigger and beech-wood stock support precise off-hand accuracy. It is offered in .177 (4.5mm) and .22 (5.5mm) across Challenger, Master, Master Ultra, and Competition Ultra trims.
The LGV designation harks back to Walther's classic match air rifles of the 1960s and 1970s; Walther revived the name in 2013 for a premium recreational springer engineered to tame the harsh recoil and twang typical of spring-piston air rifles.

The LGV name dates to Walther's 1960s-70s match air rifles; the modern LGV is a sporting/recreational springer rather than a 10m Olympic match gun (a role filled by Walther's LG-series PCP rifles). Higher-velocity 'Ultra' models reach roughly 1000 fps in .177 with light pellets; market-specific versions are tuned to comply with local energy limits such as the UK 12 ft-lb threshold.
