About the Walther PPQ M2

The Walther PPQ M2 is a semi-automatic pistol chambered in 9x19mm Parabellum, produced by Carl Walther GmbH Sportwaffen since 2013. This German-manufactured firearm reflects the engineering traditions and quality standards of its country of origin, designed to meet the demands of both civilian and professional users in a competitive global marketplace. Featuring a 15-round magazine capacity, this pistol offers generous firepower for duty use and home defense. The striker-fired action provides a consistent trigger pull for every shot, simplifying training and reducing the manual of arms - a design philosophy that has become the dominant paradigm in modern defensive handguns. The 4.0-inch barrel provides an excellent balance between sight radius and portability, making it equally suitable for duty carry and recreational shooting. Weighing 680g (24.0 oz) empty, this firearm strikes a practical balance between manageable carry weight and sufficient mass to moderate felt recoil during shooting. The polymer frame construction reduces weight while providing a textured, ergonomic grip surface designed for secure handling in all conditions. This firearm represents its manufacturer's commitment to delivering a well-engineered, reliable product that serves the needs of discerning shooters seeking quality, accuracy, and dependable performance from a proven platform.

The PPQ's 'Quick Defense Trigger' is widely considered one of the best factory striker-fired triggers ever produced, with a crisp break and an exceptionally short 0.1-inch reset that allows extremely rapid follow-up shots. The M2 variant replaced the European-style paddle magazine release with a conventional American-style button at the specific request of the US law enforcement market.

The PPQ M2 is distinguished by its Quick Defense Trigger system, widely considered one of the best striker-fired triggers available. The Navy SD variant features modifications for underwater and near-water operations. Available in multiple barrel lengths: 4" standard, 4.6" threaded (tactical), and 5" (sport/competition). Taiwan selected a special PPQ M2 version to replace Smith & Wesson 5904 service pistols.

This is a variant of the Walther P99.
