About the Winchester XPR Extreme Hunter
The Winchester XPR Extreme Hunter is a bolt-action hunting rifle built on Winchester's economical XPR platform. Chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor, it features a 22-inch button-rifled free-floating barrel with a threaded muzzle and muzzle brake, a Tungsten Gray Cerakote finish on the barrel and receiver, and a synthetic stock in TrueTimber Midnight camouflage. Its bolt uses three front locking lugs with a 60-degree lift and a nickel Teflon coating, and it employs Winchester's adjustable M.O.A. trigger system, a two-position thumb safety, a bolt unlock button, and a detachable single-stack box magazine.
Winchester introduced the XPR in 2015 as an affordable modern bolt-action to compete with budget hunting rifles, pairing a push-feed action with the company's M.O.A. trigger; the Extreme Hunter dressed that action in camo and Cerakote for backcountry big-game hunters.
