Mini-Chassis Bedding – The Orion has matched mating surfaces between the bottom receiver and the metal mini-chassis, ensuring a strong, near-perfect bedding system for repeatable accuracy. High Performance Helical primary extraction technology ensures that extraction forces are continuous across the bolt lift. The distribution of primary extraction force ensures smoother and more even bolt lift force, as well as reducing pressure on the extractor. Use of AICS compatible magazines in Double Stack Single Feed (DSSF) format, is a deliberate design choice to ensure the greatest overlap between the bolt face and the cartridge base; prioritizing feeding reliability. Carbon fibre was chosen for its lightweight, high strength and stability across varying environmental conditions. Carbon fibre stock is bonded to a Bottom Metal Mini Chassis (BMMC). Together they assure repeatable accuracy and retention of zero. Cold hammer forged and heat treated barrel provides a prolonged barrel life.
