About the Beretta A300 Ultima Patrol 20 Gauge
The Beretta A300 Ultima Patrol 20 Gauge is a 2026 addition to the A300 Ultima Patrol tactical line, bringing Beretta's gas-operated, self-cleaning semi-automatic action to the lighter, lower-recoiling 20-gauge platform for home and personal defense. Chambered in 20 gauge with a 3-inch chamber, it carries a 19.1-inch chrome-lined barrel threaded for Beretta Mobilchoke interchangeable choke tubes, an aluminum receiver, and a 7+1 capacity via an extended tubular magazine. At roughly six pounds it is about two pounds lighter than the 12-gauge model, with a 38-inch overall length, making it markedly more manageable for recoil-sensitive and smaller-statured shooters while retaining the Patrol family's tactical feature set: ghost-ring rear and fiber-optic front sights, a seven-slot Picatinny rail, M-LOK forend, three QD sling points, an enlarged loading port, and oversized reversible controls. Offered in black, gray, and tiger-stripe finishes with a starting MSRP of $1,299.
Defensive shotgun wisdom long treated 12 gauge as the only serious chambering, dismissing 20 gauge as a beginner's bore. Beretta pushed back at SHOT Show 2026 with a 20-gauge Ultima Patrol built on the same self-cleaning gas action, betting that a six-pound, soft-shooting semi-auto that almost anyone can run fast beats a hard-kicking 12 gauge they flinch behind.
