About the FAIR SSX12

The FAIR SSX12 is an inertia-operated semi-automatic 12-gauge hunting shotgun built by F.A.I.R. in Italy's Val Trompia gunmaking region. Chambered for 3-inch (76mm) shells, it uses a simple recoil-inertia action that harnesses the kinetic energy of firing rather than a gas system, which the maker promotes as needing minimal maintenance. It is offered with barrel lengths from 61cm (24 in) to 76cm (30 in), a walnut stock, ventilated rib, and interchangeable TECHNICHOKE tubes, positioned as an affordable alternative to over-under and side-by-side field guns.

Rather than compete on gas-operated engineering, F.A.I.R. pitched the SSX12 as the low-maintenance answer to hunters who wanted a semi-auto that behaved as reliably as their old break-action doubles, leaning entirely on Bruno Civolani's inertia principle.
