About the Glock 17 Gen6
The Glock 17 Gen6 is the sixth generation of the iconic Glock 17 full-size 9mm semi-automatic pistol, shipping to dealers in January 2026. It introduces a redesigned frame with a built-in palm swell, an enlarged factory beavertail for a higher and more stable grip without slide bite, and a new RTF6 dual-texture grip surface that wraps further around the frame. The slide is factory cut for the Gen6 Optic Ready System, accepting multiple red-dot footprints via included adapter plates, and each pistol ships with a flat-faced trigger.
Glock skipped a fully distinct Gen6 frame redesign for decades, finally moving the venerable G17 to a factory beavertail in 2026, a feature shooters had been adding aftermarket since the 1990s.
