About the Glock 34 Gen5 MOS

The Glock 34 Gen5 MOS is the competition-oriented variant of the Glock full-size pistol family, featuring a 135mm (5.31") extended barrel and longer slide compared to the standard Glock 17. Originally introduced as the Glock 34 in 1998 as the company's first purpose-built competition pistol, the Gen5 MOS variant was announced in January 2018 at SHOT Show. It incorporates all Gen5 improvements including the Glock Marksman Barrel (GMB) with enhanced polygonal rifling and improved barrel crown, nDLC finish for superior corrosion resistance, ambidextrous slide stop, reversible magazine release, flared magazine well, and no finger grooves. The Modular Optic System (MOS) provides a precision-machined slide cut with interchangeable mounting plates for popular micro red dot sights. The extended barrel and 191mm sight radius deliver improved accuracy over the Glock 17, while the heavier slide helps tame muzzle flip for faster follow-up shots. It is the preferred Glock for USPSA Production, IDPA Stock Service Pistol, and Carry Optics divisions worldwide.

The Glock 34 was Glock's first purpose-built competition pistol when it debuted in 1998, and its longer slide and lighter trigger pull quickly made it the dominant platform in USPSA Production and IPSC divisions. The Gen5 MOS variant is available only with the optics-ready slide, acknowledging that competitive shooters overwhelmingly mount red dot sights.

The Gen5 Glock 34 is available only in the MOS configuration. The trigger pull is factory-set at approximately 24N (5.4 lbf), lighter than the standard Glock 17 at 28N. Weight with empty magazine is 743g; weight without magazine is 665g. Standard magazine capacity is 17 rounds (shared with Glock 17), with optional 10, 19, 24, and 33-round magazines available. The MOS system ships with adapter plates compatible with Trijicon RMR, Leupold DeltaPoint, Holosun, and other popular micro red dot optics. Sight radius with polymer sights is 191mm, with steel sights 190mm, and with GNS sights 189mm. The slide width is 25.5mm while the overall width including controls is 34mm.
