About the Glock 45 Gen6
The Glock 45 Gen6 is the sixth-generation evolution of Glock's full-size-frame, compact-slide 9mm crossover pistol, pairing the G17-length frame with a G19-length slide. Announced on 6 December 2025 and reaching dealers in January 2026, the Gen6 introduces Glock's new Optic Ready System (ORS) for lower, plate-based direct-mount red dots, an enlarged permanent beavertail, the RTF6 grip texture, a standard flat-faced trigger, deeper angled slide serrations and an undercut trigger guard.
The G45 was originally created as a 'crossover' for the U.S. Customs and Border Protection contract, blending the full-size grip duty shooters wanted with a shorter slide for faster handling; the Gen6 refresh folds in years of aftermarket tweaks Glock owners had been doing themselves.

Gen6 replaces the older MOS plate system with the Optic Ready System for a lower height-over-bore. The G45 keeps the 17-round full-size grip with the shorter, more maneuverable G19-length slide.
