About the Glock 48

The Glock 48 is a slimline compact semi-automatic pistol introduced in 2019 as part of Glock's Slimline series. Chambered in 9x19mm Parabellum with a 10+1 capacity, it was designed to bridge the gap between the ultra-compact Glock 43 and the standard compact Glock 19. The G48 features the same overall length and slide length as the Glock 19 but with a dramatically thinner profile at just 28mm (1.10 inches) wide, achieved through a single-stack magazine design. The pistol is built around the Glock Marksman Barrel (GMB) with enhanced polygonal rifling for improved accuracy, paired with a silver nPVD-finished stainless steel slide for corrosion resistance. Its longer sight radius of 152mm compared to the Glock 43X's shorter slide provides improved accuracy potential at defensive distances. The frame incorporates a built-in beavertail for a higher grip, shortened trigger distance for faster engagement, reversible magazine catch, and the Glock Slim Mounting Rail for compact accessories. The Glock 48 has become one of the most popular concealed carry pistols on the civilian market, offering a full firing grip with excellent concealability due to its slim width.

The Glock 48 was announced alongside the Glock 43X at SHOT Show 2019 and essentially offers a Glock 19-length slide in a slim single-stack package. Aftermarket Shield Arms S15 magazines that provide 15-round flush-fit capacity became so popular they created an entirely new accessory ecosystem around the Slimline platform.

The Glock 48 was announced alongside the Glock 43X at SHOT Show 2019. Both pistols share the same Slimline frame with 10-round single-stack magazines, but the G48 has a longer slide and barrel (matching G19 dimensions) while the G43X uses the shorter G43 slide on the same frame. The original G48 featured a silver nPVD slide finish; the later MOS variant introduced in August 2020 added a factory-milled optic cut for micro red dots, a slim accessory rail, and an all-black nDLC slide finish. Aftermarket 15-round flush-fit magazines from Shield Arms (S15) allow the G48 to match the Glock 19's standard capacity in a narrower package. The Glock Marksman Barrel (GMB) features enhanced polygonal rifling with a recessed target crown, producing slightly higher muzzle velocity than older Glock barrel designs. Weight without magazine is 524g (18.48 oz); the 588g figure includes the empty magazine. European models were offered with an integrated accessory rail from introduction.
