About the Glock G24
The Glock G24 is a semi-automatic pistol chambered in .40 S&W, produced by Glock Ges.m.b.H. since 1994. This Austrian-manufactured firearm reflects the engineering traditions and quality standards of its country of origin, designed to meet the demands of both civilian and professional users in a competitive global marketplace. Featuring a 15-round magazine capacity, this pistol offers generous firepower for duty use and home defense. The striker-fired action provides a consistent trigger pull for every shot, simplifying training and reducing the manual of arms - a design philosophy that has become the dominant paradigm in modern defensive handguns. The 6.0-inch barrel maximizes accuracy potential and ballistic performance, making this an excellent choice for target shooting, competition, or field use. Weighing 757g (26.7 oz) empty, this firearm strikes a practical balance between manageable carry weight and sufficient mass to moderate felt recoil during shooting. The polymer frame construction reduces weight while providing a textured, ergonomic grip surface designed for secure handling in all conditions. This firearm represents its manufacturer's commitment to delivering a well-engineered, reliable product that serves the needs of discerning shooters seeking quality, accuracy, and dependable performance from a proven platform.
The Glock 24 was born during the golden age of .40 S&W competition shooting in the mid-1990s, when IPSC and USPSA shooters clamored for factory pistols that could compete in Major power factor divisions. Its 6.02-inch barrel made it the longest-barreled production Glock of its era and gave it an edge in accuracy that competition shooters prized. Though it was eventually replaced by the more refined Glock 35, the G24 earned a loyal following among competitive shooters who appreciated its unique long-slide configuration.

The Glock 24 was discontinued in the late 1990s when Glock introduced the G34 (9mm) and G35 (.40 S&W) as their primary competition models. Unlike the G34/G35 which were built on the compact G19/G23 frame, the G24 used the full-size G22 frame. A compensated variant, the G24C, was also produced with factory barrel porting. The G24 saw limited production compared to other Glock models and has become somewhat collectible. It was superseded by the Glock 35, which offered similar long-slide performance in .40 S&W but on a more modern platform. The G24 was later briefly reintroduced in limited runs.
