About the Glock G41 Gen4

The Glock G41 Gen4 is a semi-automatic pistol chambered in .45 ACP, produced by Glock Ges.m.b.H. since 2014. This Austrian-manufactured firearm reflects the engineering traditions and quality standards of its country of origin, designed to meet the demands of both civilian and professional users in a competitive global marketplace. Featuring a 13-round magazine capacity, this pistol offers adequate firepower for defensive carry. The striker-fired action provides a consistent trigger pull for every shot, simplifying training and reducing the manual of arms - a design philosophy that has become the dominant paradigm in modern defensive handguns. The 5.3-inch barrel maximizes accuracy potential and ballistic performance, making this an excellent choice for target shooting, competition, or field use. Weighing 765g (27.0 oz) empty, this firearm strikes a practical balance between manageable carry weight and sufficient mass to moderate felt recoil during shooting. The polymer frame construction reduces weight while providing a textured, ergonomic grip surface designed for secure handling in all conditions. This firearm represents its manufacturer's commitment to delivering a well-engineered, reliable product that serves the needs of discerning shooters seeking quality, accuracy, and dependable performance from a proven platform.

The Glock 41 was Glock's bid to prove that the .45 ACP could still compete in the polymer-framed era. While the G21 was a capable .45 duty pistol, it was never designed for competition. The G41 addressed every complaint competition shooters had about the G21: it was lighter, had a longer sight radius, a better trigger, and reduced muzzle flip from the extended slide mass. In IDPA's Custom Defensive Pistol division, the G41 gave 1911 shooters a serious alternative that didn't need hundreds of dollars in custom gunsmithing to run reliably.

The G41 was specifically designed for IPSC Standard division and IDPA CDP (Custom Defensive Pistol) division, both of which required .45 ACP. The thinner slide profile compared to the G21 reduces weight while maintaining structural integrity for the lower-pressure .45 ACP cartridge. The G41 weighs approximately 27 ounces empty -- lighter than the 30-ounce G21 despite its longer slide. Magazine capacity is 13 rounds, matching the G21. The extended barrel provides improved accuracy and slightly higher muzzle velocity compared to the G21's 4.61-inch barrel.
