About the Krieghoff Classic Big Five

The Krieghoff Classic Big Five is a German side-by-side double rifle built as the dangerous-game version of the Classic line, chambered in heavy Nitro Express cartridges up to the .500 Nitro Express. It uses a slim but heavily reinforced boxlock steel action with twin internal hammers, Krieghoff's Universal Trigger System and a top-tang Kickspanner Combi-Cocking Device that lets the rifle be carried fully loaded with the hammers safely uncocked, and it is fitted with an express quarter rib and folding-leaf express sights for close-range work on the Big Five.

Developed with professional hunters and safari operators, the Classic Big Five pairs the fast lock time of Krieghoff's twin-hammer trigger with the reassurance of the Kickspanner tang cocker, giving dangerous-game hunters a modern double regulated for the heaviest Nitro Express loads.

Offered in dangerous-game chamberings including .375 H&H Magnum, .450/.400 Nitro Express, .470 Nitro Express, .500/.416 Nitro Express and .500 Nitro Express 3-inch. Standard 24-inch barrels with an optional 22-inch short barrel set; the express rear sight carries folding leaves regulated for 30, 50 and 80 metres. Weight runs roughly 4.5-4.8 kg depending on caliber and wood density, with about 4.76 kg (10.5 lb) considered ideal for the .500 NE.
