The Lone Wolf Arms AlphaWolf is a pistol-caliber carbine introduced in 2018, distinct from the company's blowback G9 in that it uses a short-stroke gas piston operating system with a rotating, locking bolt rather than direct blowback - a design that reduces felt recoil and bolt mass. Offered in 9x19mm Parabellum or .45 ACP, the AlphaWolf feeds from Glock-pattern magazines through machined 6061-T6 aluminum upper and lower receivers and is built around standard AR-15/M4 fire control components. The 16-inch 4140 chrome-moly barrel is threaded 0.578x28 and ships with a thread protector and an M-LOK handguard with a side-charging handle. With its collapsible stock the carbine measures 34.5 inches extended (32 inches collapsed) and weighs about 6.4 pounds unloaded.
Most pistol-caliber AR carbines rely on heavy blowback bolts; the AlphaWolf adapted a rifle-style short-stroke gas piston and rotating bolt to a Glock-fed PCC, an unusual engineering approach aimed at softer recoil and cleaner operation.
