About the Lone Wolf Arms G9 Carbine
The Lone Wolf Arms G9 is an AR-15-platform pistol-caliber carbine introduced in 2014, chambered in 9x19mm Parabellum and notable for feeding from small-frame Glock pistol magazines rather than proprietary or modified AR magazines. The G9 uses a simple blowback operating system - there is no gas block or gas tube above the barrel - with a modified blowback bolt tuned for Glock mags. The carbine configuration carries a 16-inch 4140 ordnance-steel barrel with 1:10 (also cataloged 1:16) button rifling and an M4 profile, an A2-style flash hider, a full-length Picatinny top rail and a ventilated quad-rail handguard, with a collapsible stock. Lone Wolf offered the G9 as complete carbine and pistol-length lowers/uppers, with caliber-specific uppers historically available in 9mm, .40 S&W, .357 SIG and .45 GAP.
The G9 solved a long-standing pain point for 9mm AR carbines - magazine reliability - by designing the lower around ubiquitous, inexpensive Glock magazines instead of converting AR-pattern or Colt SMG magazines.
