About the Mauser M98 Magnum
The Mauser M98 Magnum is a premium controlled-round-feed bolt-action dangerous-game rifle built on an enlarged magnum-length Mauser 98 action machined from a single block of steel. Reintroduced by Mauser Jagdwaffen in Isny im Allgaeu, Germany, it pairs the historic double-square-bridge receiver and long claw extractor with a hinged-floorplate internal magazine, express iron sights and a grade-5 walnut stock, chambered for heavy African cartridges such as the .375 H&H Magnum and .416 Rigby.
The magnum-length Mauser 98 traces to the early 1900s, when Mauser worked with London gunmaker John Rigby & Co. to build an enlarged action able to house the era's largest cased cartridges. Rigby's .416, developed for the platform, went on to become one of the most storied African dangerous-game rounds. The modern M98 Magnum revives that heritage as a hand-finished dangerous-game rifle.
