About the Mossberg Model 152
The Mossberg Model 152 is an American semi-automatic .22 Long Rifle carbine produced by O.F. Mossberg & Sons from 1948 to 1957. Built on a simple blowback action feeding from a seven-round detachable box magazine, it paired a compact 18-inch barrel with a walnut Monte Carlo stock and a distinctive hinged forearm that folds down to form a forward hand grip. Marketed as an affordable, military-styled sporting and plinking rifle, it featured a receiver-mounted peep sight, a hooded front sight, and a grooved receiver for optional scope mounting.
The fold-down front grip on the Model 152 gave it a paramilitary look that echoed the training carbines of the era, helping Mossberg market it to youth and small-game shooters during the post-war boom in inexpensive .22 rifles.
