About the Norinco JW2000

The Norinco JW2000 is a side-by-side double-barreled break-action shotgun chambered in 12 gauge, built as an affordable coach-gun-pattern firearm by China's state-owned Norinco. It features two 12-inch smoothbore barrels with cylinder-bore chokes, twin external hammers and double triggers so each barrel fires independently, a forged-steel receiver, traditional extractors, a bead front sight and a fixed checkered wood stock and forend. With a 2-3/4 inch chamber and a short overall length, it is a compact, simple break-open shotgun popular for cowboy action shooting, ranch use and home defense.

The coach gun pattern that the JW2000 reproduces traces to the short side-by-side shotguns carried by stagecoach guards in the 19th-century American West, the origin of the phrase riding shotgun. Norinco's low-cost reproduction made the classic exposed-hammer double gun widely accessible to cowboy action shooters and budget-minded buyers.
