About the Remington MSR

The Remington Modular Sniper Rifle (MSR) is a multi-caliber bolt-action precision rifle developed in response to the U.S. military's Precision Sniper Rifle (PSR) competition. The MSR won the PSR contract and was subsequently adopted by the U.S. Army as the M2010 Enhanced Sniper Rifle, replacing the M24 SWS. Its modular design allows rapid caliber conversion between .338 Lapua Magnum, .300 Winchester Magnum, and .308 Winchester through a quick-change barrel system, making it one of the most versatile military sniper platforms in service.

The Remington MSR won the prestigious U.S. SOCOM Precision Sniper Rifle competition in 2013, beating out submissions from Accuracy International, FN Herstal, and Barrett. As the M2010, it represented the first complete replacement of the M24 SWS in U.S. Army service since the M24 was adopted in 1988, ending a 23-year era for that platform.

Remington MSR specifications

The MSR was developed under Remington's Advanced Armament Division. The M2010 variant chambered in .300 Winchester Magnum replaced the M24 SWS in U.S. Army service starting in 2011. The rifle features a titanium receiver for weight reduction and a folding stock that reduces transport length. The AAC Titan-QD suppressor is the standard-issue suppressor for the M2010. The MSR's chassis was designed by Jim Sullivan, who also worked on the original M16/AR-15 design.
