About the Blaser Tactical 2
The Blaser Tactical 2 is an enhanced straight-pull bolt-action sniper rifle that builds upon the proven R93 Tactical platform. Its defining characteristic is the straight-pull bolt mechanism with a 14-lug collet locking system, enabling significantly faster cycling than conventional turn-bolt actions -- the bolt travels straight back and forward without rotation, allowing trained operators to achieve rapid follow-up shots. Available in .308 Winchester, .300 Winchester Magnum, and .338 Lapua Magnum, the Tactical 2 features plasma-nitrided fluted barrels for enhanced corrosion resistance and reduced weight, an improved aluminum chassis stock with adjustable cheek piece and length of pull, and a full-length Picatinny rail for optics mounting.
The Blaser Tactical 2's straight-pull action gives it a unique advantage in rapid engagement scenarios. German counter-terrorism units particularly valued the design for hostage rescue operations where the ability to take immediate follow-up shots without breaking sight picture was critical. The Australian Army's adoption of the platform brought it into active combat zones for the first time.

The Tactical 2 refined the original R93 Tactical design with an improved stock system offering better ergonomics and modularity. The .338 Lapua Magnum variant uses a 686mm (27-inch) barrel and weighs approximately 5.7 kg. Barrel changes between calibers can be accomplished in approximately 60 seconds using the quick-change barrel system. The plasma nitriding process on the fluted barrels provides hardness of approximately 1000 HV, significantly improving barrel life and corrosion resistance. The Australian Army adopted the Tactical 2 as a replacement for earlier sniper systems.
