About the Ruger No. 1
The Ruger No. 1 is a single-shot falling block rifle based on the classic Farquharson action. It features an under-lever that drops the breechblock for loading, a two-piece Alexander Henry-style forend, and premium walnut stock. One of the most elegant sporting rifles in production, it offers exceptional accuracy due to its rigid single-shot action.
Designed by Lenard Brownell and introduced in 1967, the No. 1 was inspired by the British single-shot rifles of the Victorian era. Bill Ruger personally championed this rifle as a showcase of fine craftsmanship.
