About the Savage Model 19 NRA

The Savage Model 19 NRA is a .22 Long Rifle bolt-action target rifle introduced in 1919 to serve the surge in smallbore competition after World War I. Fed by a detachable five-round box magazine and fitted with a military-style stock and micrometer aperture sights, it was widely used for NRA smallbore matches and marksmanship training through the interwar years.

Adopted by American smallbore competitors after WWI, the Model 19 helped standardize NRA match and marksmanship training with the .22 LR cartridge, and served alongside the Springfield 1903 in training programs.
