About the Winchester Model 121
The Winchester Model 121 is a single-shot, bolt-action rimfire rifle chambered for .22 Short, .22 Long, and .22 Long Rifle. Introduced in 1967 as an inexpensive entry-level and youth trainer, it used a controlled-round-feed bolt with dual front locking lugs reminiscent of the Model 70, and an automatic safety that re-engaged every time the bolt was cycled. It was fitted with a 20.75-inch barrel and a one-piece modified Monte Carlo hardwood stock with a walnut finish, and was produced until 1973.
One of Winchester's low-cost single-shot rimfires of the late 1960s, the Model 121 was aimed at first-time shooters and young hunters, and its cycle-engaged automatic safety made it a common choice for supervised plinking and small-game hunting.
