About the Winchester Model 25
The Winchester Model 25 is an American pump-action shotgun chambered in 12 gauge, introduced in 1949 as a lower-cost, solid-frame derivative of the Model 12. Unlike the takedown Model 12, the Model 25 used a fixed (non-takedown) barrel to reduce manufacturing cost, fed from a tubular magazine.
The Model 25 was Winchester's attempt to keep the legendary Model 12's slick pump action affordable after the war by eliminating the costly takedown feature, but it was quietly dropped after only a few years.
