About the Winchester Model 70 Extreme Weather SS
The Winchester Model 70 Extreme Weather SS is a bolt-action hunting rifle and an all-weather variant of the classic Model 70. It pairs a matte stainless steel receiver and free-floating fluted stainless barrel with a hand-laid composite stock over an aluminum bedding block, making it highly resistant to moisture and harsh field conditions. It retains the Model 70's controlled-round-feed Mauser-type claw extractor, three-position safety, and user-adjustable M.O.A. trigger. In .300 Winchester Magnum it wears a 26-inch fluted barrel and a three-round internal magazine.
The Winchester Model 70 has been nicknamed 'The Rifleman's Rifle' since its 1936 introduction, prized for its controlled-round-feed action derived from the Mauser 98. The Extreme Weather SS carries that heritage into a corrosion-resistant stainless-and-composite package built for hunting in punishing conditions.
