About the Pedersoli Kodiak Mark IV
The Pedersoli Kodiak Mark IV is an Italian breech-loading side-by-side double rifle, a faithful modern reproduction of the 19th-century Colt-style double rifle built for dangerous- and big-game hunting. Its exposed-hammer break-action holds one cartridge in each of two barrels, each cocked and fired by its own hammer and trigger, giving the hunter two fast follow-up shots on driven boar or bear. Offered in .45-70 Government, 8x57mm JRS, 9.3x74mm R and (in the 24-inch model) .450 Nitro Express, it pairs tapered blued barrels regulated to a common point of impact with a checkered walnut stock, a hardened-steel frame and a double-leaf dovetail rear sight.
Marketed under the Kodiak name after the great Alaskan brown bear, the Mark IV revives the classic express double rifle for modern cartridge shooters. Its interchangeable 20-gauge barrel option lets one action serve as both a big-game double rifle and a hunting shotgun.
