About the Glock G23 V MOS

The Glock G23 V MOS is the optics-ready variant of the G23 V compact .40 S&W pistol, featuring the Modular Optic System (MOS) slide that is precision-machined to accept popular red dot sight footprints. Released in 2025 as part of Glock's V-series lineup, it combines all the improvements of the G23 V -- the Glock Marksman Barrel, nDLC finish, front serrations, ambidextrous slide stop, and flared magazine well -- with the ability to directly mount micro red dot optics for faster target acquisition. The MOS configuration slightly increases the sight radius to 156mm (6.14 inches) compared to the standard G23 V's 152mm due to the taller suppressor-height iron sights that co-witness with mounted optics. The pistol retains the standard 13+1 capacity and accepts all Glock .40 S&W double-stack magazines. The G23 V MOS is designed for shooters and law enforcement officers who want the proven .40 S&W platform enhanced with modern optics capability.

The MOS system on .40 S&W Glocks addresses a long-standing request from competitive shooters and law enforcement agencies that remained committed to the .40 caliber. Red dot optics on the compact G23 platform help mitigate one of the .40 S&W's perceived weaknesses -- the snappier recoil making follow-up shots slower than with 9mm -- by allowing shooters to track the dot through recoil and get back on target faster.

The MOS variant shares identical dimensions and weight with the standard G23 V, differing only in the milled slide top and included optic mounting plates. The taller MOS iron sights provide a longer sight radius of 156mm vs 152mm on the standard model. Ships with adapter plates for common red dot footprints. Weight without magazine is 687g (24.23 oz), same as the standard G23 V. The MOS system adds no significant weight as material is removed from the slide to create the optic mounting surface.

This is a variant of the Glock G23 V.
