About the Marlin Camp Carbine 45
The Marlin Camp Carbine 45 (Model 45) is a .45 ACP direct-blowback semi-automatic carbine-caliber carbine made by Marlin Firearms from 1985 to 1999, the larger-bore sibling of the 9mm Camp 9. Conceived as a handy 'camp' utility long gun for foraging and defense, it feeds from standard 1911-pattern .45 ACP magazines (7-round as supplied) so a shooter can share ammunition and magazines between carbine and a 1911 sidearm. It uses a hardwood stock, Marlin's Micro-Groove rifling, an M1-Carbine-style cross-bolt safety in the trigger guard, a magazine disconnect, and a rubber recoil pad.
Marlin's Camp 45 revived the frontier idea of a long gun and a handgun feeding the same ammunition - chamber it in .45 ACP and it swallows the very same 1911 magazines as a shooter's sidearm, making it a true camp companion gun.

Mechanically the same platform as the Camp 9 but scaled for the larger .45 ACP cartridge and 1911 magazines. Marlin recommended cleaning roughly every 250 rounds; the urethane action buffer can fail if neglected. Discontinued in 1999 and now a sought-after collectible.
