About the Pedersoli 1777 Revolutionnaire
The Pedersoli 1777 Revolutionnaire is a modern reproduction of the French Modèle 1777 Charleville infantry musket, a .69 caliber smoothbore flintlock muzzle-loading long gun. Built by Davide Pedersoli in Italy, it pairs a roughly 44 7/8-inch armory-bright smoothbore barrel with an oil-finished European walnut full stock, steel hardware, a brass priming pan and screw-fixed barrel bands, faithful to the improved 1777 pattern with its cheek-piece stock. Loaded from the muzzle with loose ball and paper cartridge and ignited by a traditional flintlock, it is intended for reenactment, living history and black-powder shooting.
The original Modèle 1777 Charleville armed the French army through the Revolutionary and Napoleonic Wars and was the pattern refined into the An IX musket; its lines also directly shaped the United States Springfield Model 1795. Pedersoli's Revolutionnaire lets modern shooters and reenactors carry a faithful copy of that era-defining infantry musket.
