About the Pedersoli 1853 Enfield 3-Band Rifle Musket
The Pedersoli 1853 Enfield 3-Band Rifle Musket is a modern Italian reproduction of the British Pattern 1853 Enfield, a .577 caliber percussion muzzleloading rifle musket. Built by Davide Pedersoli in Gardone Val Trompia, it faithfully recreates the three-band long-rifle configuration of the original with a 39-inch tapered blued barrel, three-groove 1:78 rifling, walnut stock, brass furniture and a case-hardened lock. Chambered for the .577/.58 Minié ball and fired by a musket cap, it is used for muzzleloading target competition, American Civil War reenactment and traditional black-powder shooting.
The three-band, full-length musket was the standard Enfield configuration issued to line infantry; Pedersoli's reproduction is a mainstay of North-South Skirmish Association and other muzzleloading competitions.
